Bawe Island Zanzibar

Idyllic, serene, luxurious island resort with incredibly friendly staff, from the General Manager, Mr. Serrour and our host, Samuela, all the way down; all of whom went above and beyond to make our stay uniquely personal, memorable, enjoyable and relaxing. Some of the most fantastic Sunsets to enjoy as well. This all truly made it a one-of-a-kind stay and one we'll never forget surpassing all our expectations. Great choice of restaurants and food led by the amazing executive chef - Chef Giovanni, who was kind enough to create some incredible dining experiences for us. The Swahili breakfast is a must try. Also a special mention to Ju and William as well. Sad to leave and definitely hope to visit again sooner rather than later - I couldn't recommend a stay here enough! The staff are amazing - we felt exceptionally well looked after. The rooms are gorgeous and elegantly done. The pool and views are beautiful. The snorkelling, paddle, the gym and tennis are included in the half board package and all are superb. The beaches are gorgeous. Having a private pool to yourself on days when it is a little cooler is great as the water remains warmer than the main pool. Definitely book the Chef’s dinner - it may not be clearly advertised but it happens every few nights and it’s a lovely experience. Having bikes allocated to everyone is a huge plus and so being able to cycle different places was great. We were two adults and an 11 year old and everyone would love to return.

The accommodations were nothing short of spectacular. We stayed at a charming beachfront resort where the service was impeccable. The staff was friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile, making us feel right at home. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and offered stunning views of the ocean. The highlight of our stay was the island’s natural beauty. The food was also a major standout. Fresh seafood, flavorful local dishes, and a variety of international options were all beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like a celebration of the region’s rich culinary heritage. Bawe Island is a peaceful paradise that offers a perfect blend of relaxation, adventure, and natural beauty. Whether you're seeking a romantic getaway, a family vacation, or just a quiet place to unwind, this island is a top choice. It truly exceeded all our expectations, and we can't wait to return!

This is, without a doubt, the best hotel I’ve ever stayed in. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with warm hospitality that instantly made me feel at home. The attention to detail throughout my stay was extraordinary, turning this trip into an unforgettable experience. A special mention to the welcome drinks personally offered by the management (GRAZIE MILLE, Amine!) —a thoughtful gesture that set the tone for the exceptional service to come. I was assigned a dedicated butler (THANK YOU, Kennedy!), and I can’t praise him enough. He went above and beyond in every way, ensuring I was always comfortable and had everything I needed. Truly outstanding service! The room was absolute perfection—elegant, spacious, immaculately clean, and tastefully designed to blend luxury with local charm. Every element, from the linens to the lighting, felt curated for a flawless experience. The surroundings are some of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen—nature at its most breathtaking. And when night fell, the African sky came alive. There’s something magical about it that made me feel deeply connected and completely at peace—like being home in the most unexpected way. Honestly, this hotel deserves 7 stars, not just 5.
